Category Ads I love
How much in fees does your bank take to watch your money? If your bank takes more money than a stranger, you need an ally. Whatever their actual policy is, I almost don’t care. This commercial piqued my interest. This commercial is pure genius. All banks, hang your heads in shame, fire your marketing people, […]
I’ve been in the market for a new __________ for a few months. A __________ that serves as a reader, tablet and notebook. Before tonight, contenders for that blank were the iPad, MacBook Air, Kindle, nook and Galaxy Tab. I was watching Revolution when the Surface tablet ad came on: Why I love this ad […]
This 30-second spot is yet another example of why Volkswagen is one of the most successful brands in the world. DG likes the “Is it fast” one from last year. I have loved Volkswagens and the Volkswagen brand since first seeing their iconic da-da-da commercial. They really have me sold on their brand of “individuality […]
Who wouldn’t love a scarf knit out of noodles? Slurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrp.
“$2,000.00?” — The only email from Brooks Brothers that has ever made me want to buy something from them
Brooks Brothers emails me twice a day. I’ve updated my subscription settings, checking off only the box for women’s, yet I still get emails from them, twice a day, even Sundays. The sales they advertise through email are never that stellar. 10-15% off. And the ones that are good hardly ever have the things I […]
While my experience wasn’t exactly like the one this guy had with the Abarth, it was just as memorable.
I was in Paris, walking on Boulevard Montmartre, and she was parked on the side of the road in her cute little way. She was off-white with a light blue interior. I thought she looked like a little cake (mianbao in Chinese sounds better). Very delicious and I wanted to eat her.
That was 2009 and I’ve been obsessed with Fiat ever since. When I found out that Chrysler entered into a strategic alliance with the Italian carmaker, and that it would be available in America in 2010, I moved Volkswagen Cabrio/EOS down to number two on my Dream Car list.
My Fiat love affair has also been strengthened by the company’s detail-oriented marketing strategy — It’s 10,000 sexier than the Mini, just as smart and witty as VW (but more bad ass), and as crave-able as Italian food. The ad with Jennifer Lopez put me off a little bit but they’ve rebounded with their Catrinel Menghia and Charlie Sheen versions.
This video is the the Fiat 500 Abarth ad with Catrinel Menghia that premiered during the 2011 Superbowl. Here’s their latest with Charlie Sheen, called “House Arrest”: http://youtu.be/jjYxE2VD7VE
